
The Better Business Bureau of Hawaii is accepting nominations for the 2012 Torch Awards, which recognize local businesses as well as "charities and individuals for their outstanding commitment to fair, honest, ethical marketplace practices," said Chief Executive Officer Dwight Kealoha.
Awards will be presented in four categories: small, medium and large businesses, and nonprofits. The organization also will present the Ka Mea o Kako‘o Award to an individual or group that has considerably advanced marketplace trust through consumer advocacy, protection or education, a specific action or lifetime achievement.
Nomination forms are available at hawaii.bbb.org; the deadline is 4 p.m. March 1. Awards will be presented at the BBB Torch Award luncheon May 2.
