Craft strategic
messages that
inspire engagement
and support

Building public awareness and support of the nonprofit sector is a top priority across America.

Here in Hawaii, recent events have made it increasingly important for the charitable sector to remind the community what nonprofits contribute to the quality of life – why they need and deserve community support.

That's why the theme of the 2008 HANO Conference is strategic storytelling. We'll explore why storytelling is so important, how to select and craft your messages, and the tools and resources to help you get your message to your constituents and supporters.

Bring staff and board members to join nonprofit leaders, volunteers and supporters from across the state to spend a day networking and honing skills to communicate better with donors, staff, volunteers, clients, decision makers and the media.

"Telling the Nonprofit Story: How Strategic Messages Inspire Engagement and Support" will help:

  • Demystify what nonprofits do and why we matter
  • Close the perception gap
  • Shape how things get done and why people care
  • Connect organizations, people and communities
  • Describe a desirable future

You can help build a stronger nonprofit sector by participating in the 2008 HANO Conference. Learn to articulate and share clear, compelling stories for your organization and Hawaii's charities without industry jargon. Galvanize and inspire your staff and constituents to reach a whole new level of clarity, advocacy and productivity. Learn to seize control of your message to the community. This could be the most important meeting you attend this year.
