Governor vetoes 41 bills; Legislature overrides 13
On July 8, Governor Linda Lingle vetoed 41 bills raising the total number of vewtoes for the 2008 session of the Legilature to 54, a record for her administration. The House and Senate acted quickly to override 13 of those vetoes, increasing the total overrides for this session to 17.
