Native Hawaiian Caucus seeks community-priority ideas

Representative Karen Awana and members of the Native Hawaiian Caucus are visiting communities to hear feedback on the impact Native Hawaiian programs and resources have had on the community.

The National Conference of State Legislatures is conducting community sessions with the support of the Kellogg Foundation to identify pressing issues and identify community-driven solutions in Native Hawaiian communities. Guests will review existing programs and funding sources that are working to maintain the quality of life in Hawaii. These sessions are scheduled on Oahu:

  • Kapolei – 5:30 p.m., Monday, July 7, at Kapolei Hale Conference Room
  • Nanakuli – 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, at Ka Waihona o ka Na‘auao School Cafeteria
  • Waianae – 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 9 at Waianae Intermediate School Cafeteria
  • Papakolea – 6 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School Cafeteria
  • Waimanalo – 6 p.m., Friday, July 11, Waimanalo Public Library
