The new report, first released at the 2016 HANOCON and Awards, provides data about the numbers of nonprofits in Hawaii, nonprofit revenue, subsectors, island distribution, and nonprofit perspectives.
The report also includes nonprofit profiles, an overview of nonprofit trends, and recommended nonprofit sector resources.
Please join us for a conversation with Tim Delaney of the National Council of Nonprofits, to discuss the latest in federal budget changes and how the nonprofit sector and our partners will fare in this new paradigm.
We'll start the morning with an update by Tim--Urgent Threats: What's at Risk for Nonprofits, Foundations, and our partners in the New Policy Landscape? The 2016 elections altered the faces--and often the philosophies--of policy players at local, state, and federal governments. Charitable nonprofits, foundations, and our partners collectively face urgent threats challenging our work, and even existence. This presentation will connect various policy dots, explore how these issues will affect our work, and bolster us in standing for our missions.
And then we want to hear from you. During the Town Hall, we need your help to inventory federal budget cuts and their potential impacts in Hawai'i, and contribute to a forward-looking discussion to keep our communities thriving.
New Issues. New Answers. New World.
In a world that has been increasingly expanded by technology and an increased social consciousness, a breadth of new opportunities and challenges have arisen for the charitable sector. Now more than ever, charitable organizations are embracing the need for standards of ethical practice that preserve and strengthen the public’s confidence. This public trust is the foundation upon which our sector strives to improve life in the communities we serve.
