"It is that time of year again," said David Bangert, professor of management at the University of Hawaii's Shidler College of Business. "We are looking to potential projects for the MBAs for spring 2007."
Bangert says he would like organizations that would like a team to contact him by mid November. "It looks like we will have 17 teams for the spring, including seven from the executive MBA program," He said.
Currently, there are 11 teams at work, seven with non-profits: Mental Health Kokua, Child and Family Services, Hina Mauka, the Organic Farmers Association, Hawaii Theater for Youth, American Box Car Racing and Hawaii Arts Alliance.
The practicum requires second-year MBA candidates to serve in pro bono consulting teams to for-profit and nonprofit businesses. Each team has a faculty supervisor and the assistance of specialty faculty advisors as required.
