Traders for Charity, Inc., a start-up Hawaii private foundation, approved grants totaling almost $60,000 to 11 Hawaii nonprofits at its first board of directors’ meeting in March. The awards, ranging in size from $5,000 to $7,500, will benefit communities statewide in the areas of education, health, human services and youth development. Grantees include:
Several of the grant awards are challenge grants to the charities that require raising of matching funds. For example, the largest award, $7,500, is to Voyager School Foundation and requires a partial match of $2,500.
