Nonprofit leaders highlight Businesswoman of the Year event

Pacific Business News has announced the finalists for the 2008 Businesswoman of the Year award. The list includes these nonprofit stars:

  • Beth Giesting, executive director of the Hawai‘i Primary Care Association – HANO’s immediate past board chair
  • Barbara Ankersmit, president, QMark Research & Polling – former HANO board member
  • Sue Wesselkamper, president, Chaminade University – former HANO board member
  • Kealii Lopez, president & CEO, Olelo Community Television
  • Susan Hunt, executive director, Hamakua Health Center
  • Amy Blagriff, executive vice president, AIA Honolulu – a 501(c)(6) nonprofit

Maryknoll School names new president

Maryknoll School in Honolulu has named Perry Martin as its new president replacing Mike Baker who will retire at the end of the school year after serving as president since May 1997. Martin comes to Hawai‘i from Marist Catholic High School in Eugene, Ore., where he was principle and president. Maryknoll is a Catholic, co-ed school for students from  

Paul Dunne joins North Hawai‘i Community Hospital

Paul A. Dunne has been named the executive director of Fund Development and Marketing by the North Hawai‘i Community Hospital on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Dunne was previously executive director of Development for the Inner City Health Center in Denver. He and his wife Julieanne have relocated to Kamuela.
