Honolulu to get $4 million for homeless programs

Honolulu will receive $4,016,074 in federal funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to provide temporary financial assistance and services to either prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless or to help those who are homeless to be re-housed and stabilized.

The City and County will soon release an RFP for homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing programs and scheduled an informational briefing at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at McCoy Pavilion in Ala Moana Park.
