Use technology for your final push at the Legislature

Many pieces of legislation are passed or defeated in the home stretch of the legislative session. It's a critical time to ramp up efforts to ensure your bills go where they need to go! Along with media work and networking at the Capitol to further your cause, encouraging your constituents to voice their opinions is a big part of affecting legislation.

Join Sustain Hawaii and HANO at a free workshop, “Making The Final Push – Internet Tools to Help You Pass Your Bills,” on April 6 to learn about Policy Ninja, a powerful, fun web-based tool that allows community members and organizations to have a remarkable voice on issues they care about. By combining action pages with money-in-politics transparency, Policy Ninja can take your advocacy campaign to a whole new level!

You can easily set up web forms that allow online constituents to send emails to any decision-maker, letters to-the-editor of any newspaper, and submit official state testimony too. Policy Ninja becomes a one-stop shop for people to get their voices heard as well as giving you the ability to look at special interests that may be affecting your particular legislation. Policy Ninja is a new HANO member benefit. As a HANO member, you can use Policy Ninja at the discounted rate of $35/month.

This event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hawaii State Capitol, Room 312, Honolulu. It is free and open to the public. Pupus and refreshments will be provided. To RSVPor  for more info, contact Kevin Vaccarello,  kevin@sustainhawaii.org  or (808) 783-4596.
