Conference will help cultivate healthy resource families

Family Programs Hawaii, the Hawaii State Department of Human Services, The Institute for Family Enrichment and Hui Ho‘omalu will present “Nurture Me & Watch Me Grow: Cultivating Healthy Resource Families,” an annual conference to be held at five locations across the state in April and June.

The conference is free and designed to develop and enhance the attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary to create nurturing families for children and youth to thrive and grow. Barbara and Tom Naki of The Institute for Enrichment will discuss applying nurturing principles and practices in the parenting process. The conference is interactive, a shared learning environment with individual, group activities and experiences in applying nurturing principles and practices for resource families.

All conference sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except on Oahu, where they will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Here is the schedule:

  • Hilo: Tuesday, April 6, at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel
  • Kona: Wednesday, April 7, at Keahou Beach Resort
  • Maui: Wednesday, May 5, at Maui Arts & Cultural Center
  • Kauai: Wednesday, May 12 at Aloha Beach Hotel
  • Oahu: Saturday, June 5, at Dole Ballrooms
