HANO offers workshops on insurance, IRS Form 990

The Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations will present two workshops in April of particular interest to nonprofit managers and board members:

> NONPROFIT INSURANCE 101 on Apr. 5 -- This 2 hour workshop, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (registration opens at 8:30 a.m.) will provide an overview of insurance issues relevant to nonprofit organizations. Presenters will discuss the various types of insurance necessary for and available to nonprofit organizations, such as statutory insurance, commercial liability insurance and others. They will also provide pointers about how to add value to your organization's insurance program. 

Presenters are Earl Hisatomi, vice president of Hawaii Insurance Consultants, Ltd. and Dawn Young, senior account manager for Hawaii Insurance Consultants, Ltd. Cost is FREE for HANO members, $25 for non-members. Click here for details

> DECODING THE IRS FORM 990 WORKSHOP on Apr. 25 -- Is your organization currently filing the IRS Form 990-EZ?  Based on the changed thresholds, are you now required to file the IRS Form 990?  If you don’t know the answer to this question, you need to attend this workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (registration opens at 8:30 a.m.) at Honolulu Community Action Program, 33 South King Street, Ste. 300. 

Trainers will be Allen Arakaki, CPA and Brian Ezuka, Esq.  Cost is $100 for HANO members, $160 for non-members. Registration deadline is April 21. Click here for details.
