On March 19, professional organizers from the Hawaii Association of Professional Organizers gave an office makeover to the Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii as part of National Get Organized Month. CTFH was selected for the free, one-day makeover by HAPO and its members.
Professional organizers donated their services to create storage solutions for supplies, rearrange furniture and train staff members how to clear their desks and offices of clutter. The result: an efficient workspace that enables employees to focus on tasks instead of wasting time looking for supplies to complete those tasks.
“We moved to a new office space in July, but have never really figured out how to use the space,” said Deborah Zysman, CTFH’s executive director. “Even though it is larger, it feels cluttered and cramped. We are often tripping on boxes and unable to find things.”
Tobacco-Free Hawaii can now focus better on how to reduce tobacco use and keep kids from smoking. “We couldn’t have done it without the help of our sponsors,” says Karen Simon, HAPO’s president. Storage containers, filing supplies and gift cards were donated by Esselte Corporation, Smead Corporation, Office Max, SC Johnson, the Simply Organized Store, and City Mill. Access Corp. provided shredding services.
We Care, a television program carried by Olelo Community Media, documented the event and will air it in April. Get Organized Month, sponsored by the National Association of Professional Organizers, is a national industry-wide event aimed at raising awareness of the benefits of getting organized and hiring a professional organizer. Hawaii Association of Professional Organizers is dedicated to supporting the organizing products and services industry in Hawaii.
