Ad2 Honolulu, an organization of under-32-year-old students, advertising professionals and others interested in advertising and its related fields, wants again to develop a free public awareness campaign this year for a nonprofit and is now accepting applications. The organization selected will get a year-long campaign, including marketing, public relations, creative services and advertising in television, radio and print. Historically, each year’s campaign has been valued at up to $1 million, according to Ad2.
Anna Nordin, director of marketing at Paul Brown Hawai‘i, and Amanda Donlin, former assistant media buyer at Laird Christianson Advertising, will co-chair this year’s public service campaign. “Last year, we ran a successful campaign for AccesSurf Hawai‘i that helped the organization meet many of its goals and brought its name to the attention of the public,” Donlin said. “We hope to duplicate our success.”
The deadline to submit applications is Friday, Aug. 10. To apply, contact Donlin at publicservice@ad2honolulu.org or click here and download the application.
In June, Ad2 Honolulu won first place for its public service campaign at the American Advertising Federation’s National Conference in Louisville, Ky., and was recognized as the Club of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year.
Since 1969, the group has created campaigns for nonprofits including Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, Hawaii Meals on Wheels, Hawaii Literacy, Aloha United Way member organizations that advocate on behalf of people with mental retardation, Hale Kipa, Earthtrust, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu, the Surfrider Foundation and the Hawaii Alliance for Arts Education. All campaign funding is raised through community support and volunteer efforts.
