Maui Nui Botanical Gardens
wins Betty Crocker Award

Scenic Hawaii, Inc., presented Maui Nui Botanical Gardens the Award of Excellence in the community gardens category of the annual Betty Crocker Landscape Awards on June 25 at the Outrigger Canoe Club in Honolulu.

The award is given in honor of Betty Crocker, one of the founders of the Scenic Hawai‘i,  who spent her life preserving the state’s beauty and scenic views. The award is given to community gardens that contribute to Hawai‘i’s beauty. Scenic Hawai‘i’s mission is to promote and carry out programs to protect Hawaii’s natural beauty, help to preserve and enhance landscapes and streetscapes, as well as protect Hawai‘i’s historical and cultural resources.

Scenic Hawai‘i cooperates with local, county and state agencies while providing information to garden clubs, historic preservation groups, environmental organizations, civic groups, government agencies and other individuals and organizations interested in preserving and enhancing the beauty of Hawaii.
