Leadership is the critical factor that steers nonprofit organizations through evolving challenges of growing community need, tighter budgets and greater public scrutiny. Join the Hawai‘i Community Foundation at “Breaking Boardom 2008,” a one-day forum on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom, in Waikiki.
The event is for board members of nonprofit organizations and is designed to provide the latest and most important information available from experts in the field of leadership and governance, including nationally recognized leader and expert in the nonprofit sector, Diana Aviv, who will deliver the keynote address. Aviv is president and CEO of Independent Sector and will highlight the major issues affecting the national nonprofit community.
There will also be morning and afternoon breakout sessions on topics of leadership and governance. Cost is $75 per board member. Limited travel scholarships are available for neighbor island board members. A continental breakfast and lunch is included in fee.
