Olelo provides nonprofits ‘Easy Access’ programs
Olelo Community Television has “Easy Access” services that empower nonprofits to get their messages out easily, quickly and for free. Easy Access staffers take care of most of the production details, leaving nonprofits free to think about how to tell their stories. These services help create informational, non-commercial programs and bring them to the community.
- Island Info – A video bulletin board that provides viewers with an on-screen message about events concerning your organization. Click here for more information.
- Mini Studio – A service for those interested in creating a live-to-tape, 30-minute program. No production training is required, just share your ideas and Olelo staff will help with everything else. The Mini Studio service is available at the Community Media Centers in Māpunapuna, Pālolo/Kaimukī and Windward Oahu. Click here for more information.
- Executive Production – This service brings unique community events to Oahu's viewers. Production volunteers videotape events at the request of nonprofits and other community-based groups. For more information, call (808) 834-0007 ext. 118 or email mpaz@olelo.org.
- Giving Aloha – A service geared toward nonprofits seeking to spread their message, Giving Aloha is a 30-minute program featuring representatives from nonprofits discussing their services. An organization can be the focus of an entire program by providing the guests and a host and deciding what to talk about. Olelo takes care of the rest. After the program airs, the nonprofit can distribute their program as needed. Giving Aloha airs at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays on OAHU 52. For more information, call (808) 834-0007 ext. 108 or email givingaloha@olelo.org.
- Oahu Speaks – This is an "open mic" service facilitated by Olelo staff members and available to Oahu residents who want to share a seven-minute message cablecast within one week. This quick turnaround is valuable for sharing time-sensitive messages. To make an appointment, call (808) 834-0007 ext. 140
- Capitol Commentary -- From January through May, during each legislative session, this service allows community members and legislators to share their thoughts and concerns on upcoming bills and issues of importance with the community. To arrange to meet our camera crew at the State Capitol to record your views on Tuesdays during the legislative session, call (808) 237-2123 or email capitolcommentary@olelo.org.
