The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations maintains a web page listing grants and federal domestic assistance resources at http://hawaii.gov/labor/ocs/funding. These opportunities are currently available:
- Outreach Assistance for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers Competitive Grant – Due 8/9/10 – The Office of Advocacy and Outreach requests applications for the Outreach and Assistance for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers Competitive Grants Program. This announcement seeks applications from partnerships of eligible organizations able to provide outreach and technical assistance services within a defined geographic area in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner. The intent of this portion of the OASDFR program is to focus specifically on connecting socially disadvantaged producers to USDA agricultural programs delivered at the USDA Service Center level, starting with outreach to identify the barriers to equitable participation. A first round of funding for FY 2010 OASDRF projects has been recently announced. OAO anticipates that approximately $4.7 million will be available through this RFA. Learn more.
- Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant NOFA Released – Due: 8/23/10 – HUD has posted the FY 2010 NOFA for the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant, which supports multijurisdictional planning efforts that integrate housing, land use, economic and workforce development, transportation, and infrastructure investments. - Strengthening the Aging Network: An Opportunity for Training and Evaluation – Due: 8/13/10 – As the next step in the ongoing efforts to increase the capacity of State Units on Aging across the country to play strong leadership roles in the development and implementation of modernized systems of long-term care, AoA intends to fund through this announcement a single award to accomplish three primary tasks: 1. Design and implement an intensive training for SUA directors, including but not limited to new directors; 2. Gather information about current performance standards used by states to measure the impact of their long-term support and services systems; 3. Design and conduct an evaluation of SUA progress in key areas of systems change. Learn more.
- Health Profession Opportunity Grants to Serve TANF Recipients and Other Low-Income Individuals – Due: 8/5/10 – The Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Family Assistance is announcing the solicitation of applications to competitively award cooperative agreements for demonstration projects that support the establishment and maintenance of training, education, and career advancement programs to address health care professions workforce needs. Cooperative agreements, awarded under this Funding Opportunity Announcement, will support demonstration projects that are designed to provide eligible individuals with the opportunity to obtain education and training for occupations in the health care field that pay well and are expected to either experience labor shortages or be in high demand. Individuals who are eligible to participate in funded programs are those receiving assistance under a State Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program and other low-income individuals.
