In return, HSS requests:
With nearly 8,000 lockers at each of its facilities – Salt Lake, Pearl City, Kaimuki, Mililani and Kapolei – HSS offers the longest access hours in Hawaii and provides the highest level of third-party security monitoring, covered loading and unloading, air conditioning, free pick-up, free estimates and canoe, kayak and surfboard storage. For small-business customers, HSS has a business center complete with phone, fax, wireless Internet and free package-acceptance services.
HSS is a leader in both the self-storage industry and in giving back to the people of Hawaii. From the top down, everyone at HSS believes a successful company must serve the people and help those who need it most.
The HSS Fundraising Program, the newest addition to the Community Pride Program, features a quick-hit, two-week campaign. Local groups that connect their supporters with Hawaii Self Storage can earn unrestricted funds they can use for uniforms, travel, equipment, entry fees and more. For each locker rented, the average annual contribution to the group is $100, which renews annually for as long as the customer rents the locker.
Groups of all sizes are working with HSS to develop packages that work for them. Annual fundraising goals can be as little at $1,000 or as large as $12,000. Through this special program, participants can receive discounts of 40 percent and HHS provides free pick-up for all new tenants and free labor when moving from another storage company.
HSS now invests nearly $150,000 annually in the Community Pride Program, which also includes scholarships for public high school seniors and the Lockers for Literacy program that provides free books to public school first graders.
