PBN seeks business leadership awards nominations

Pacific Business News is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Business Leadership Hawaii (BLH) awards, Hawaii's premier business awards. Since 2002, PBN and our sponsors have been honoring local leaders in business and the companies they represent with the prestigious BLH awards, including the Cades Schutte-The Cades Foundation Nonprofit Leadership Award (click link for nomination form), which recognizes a nonprofit organization that has identified important community needs or issues and responded by resolving them in a creative and innovative manner.

You can nominate your own company, yourself or a company or business leader that you admire for what they have done in our community. The other categories are:

  • Best in Business I: An award recognizing leadership by a for-profit company with more than 100 employees.
  • Best in Business II: An award recognizing leadership by a for-profit company with fewer than 100 employees.
  • American Savings Bank Business Leader of the Year: An award honoring an individual from the business, public or nonprofit sectors who has made a significant difference in Hawaii.
  • Innovative Company of the Year: An award recognizing leadership by a for-profit company that has established itself as an innovator, a change agent and a company that is not only out of the box but on the edge.
  • Community Spirit Award: An award recognizing a for-profit company making a significant contribution to the community during the last 12-18 months.

The 2009 Business Leadership Hawaii dinner and awards event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Sheraton Waikiki . Contact Doreen Tavares at PBN, dtavares@bizjournals.com or call (808) 955-8074 for answers to questions or for more information. Nomination deadline is Friday, Aug. 20.
