Social Currency is seeking projects or organizations whose work would benefit from grant awards up to $10,000 in 2008. Grant awards may be for small capital projects (project budgets under $25,000), programs or operating expenses, in particularly compelling cases provided work is results-oriented. Finalists will be asked to articulate measurable results.
Work in the areas of youth development, children’s health, family strengthening, elementary or secondary education and homelessness is of particular interest. Grant awards will be made in early spring 2008 and only to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations. No projects with fiscal sponsorships will be considered.
To apply, send a contact name and number with a brief, one-paragraph description to Robin Johnson, johnsonr115@hawaii.rr.com, by Dec. 31. Self-nominations are fine. Finalist organizations will be contacted in January 2008 for more information.
