
The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, which supports the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art in Honolulu, is offering $15.125 million in grants to support the performing arts throughout the United States.
The grants will support as many as 10 arts organizations for up to five years in disciplines such as contemporary dance, jazz, theater and presenting. They are expected to range from $800,000 to $1.8 million per organization.
Shangri La, a seasonal home that Duke built in 1937, now houses her collection of Islamic art. It is managed by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art. Click here for more information about the grants.
