Donated sporting goods will help Boys and Girls Club

Radio station KKEA -ESPN 1420 and Pflueger Honda have partnered to launch "Sporting Goods for Neighborhoods," a sporting goods drive to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii.

From Nov. 24 through the end of December, Pflueger Honda at the corner of Pali Hwy. and Beretania St. in downtown Honolulu will accept donations of new and used sporting goods. Sports items of all kinds are welcome: baseball gloves, bats, basketball nets, footballs, ping pong paddles, soccer balls, etc.

While supplies last, anyone who donates a sporting goods item will receive a coupon packet featuring free items or money-saving deals from Boston's North End Pizza Bakery, Jack in the Box, McCully Bicycle & Sporting Goods, 7-Eleven and Star Apparel. In addition, donors can enter-to-win one of two round trips for two to Las Vegas, courtesy of Vacations Hawaii.

BGCH provides guidance-oriented character development programs for keiki aged 7-17. These programs promote health and life skills, career development, the arts and sports.
