2009 Business Leadership Hawaii honors Bay Clinic

A sold-out 2009 Business Leadership Hawaii awards event was held at the Sheraton Waikiki on Nov. 12, which honored Hilo's Bay Clinic with the Cades Foundation Nonprofit Leadership Award. Clinic CEO Paul Strauss accepted the award from Jeff Portnoy, partner and management committee member of Cades Schutte.

Other companies and individuals receiveing awards at the Pacific Business News event included:

• Innovative Company of the Year Award accepted by Barron Guss, president and CEO of Altres
• Lifetime Achievement Award to Larry Rodriguez.
• Community Spirit Award accepted by Bettina Mehnert, principal of Architects Hawaii.
• Best in Business 1 Award accepted by Mark Dunkerley, president and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines.
• Best in Business 2 Award accepted by Gene Ng, M.D., of Retina Institute of Hawaii.
• American Savings Bank Business Leader of the Year Award accepted by Stanford Carr, president and CEO of Stanford Carr Development.
