Hawaii nonprofits describe impacts of budget cuts

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, HANO, in collaboration with PHOCUSED (Protecting Hawaii’s Ohana, Children, Under Served, Elderly and Disabled), sent a survey to Hawaii nonprofit organizations to gather information about the impact of funding losses during the current economic downturn and the anticipated cuts in government funding due to the state’s serious deficit in the next biennium.

More than 160 agencies responded to the survey, which greatly help HANO and PHOCUSED to explain to decision makers and the media the impact of budget cuts on the community and particularly the nonprofit sector, its programs, services, clients and staff.

We thank all of you who responded. Click here for a compilation of the survey responses.
