Still time to sign up for HCF’s leadership conference

There’s still room and it’s not too late to sign up for Hawaii Community Foundation's 2010 Board Leadership Conference on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Hawaii Convention Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is $100 per person and parking is $5.

The conference is a training opportunity for board members to actively stay informed of industry changes and new requirements governing nonprofit organizations. U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye will give the luncheon keynote and the planned workshops include:

  • Social Media Boot Camp – Get the "30,000 foot view" and learn how new media applications can help your organization.
  • Collaboration: A Strategy for Surviving in Tough Times – Collaboration is more than a buzzword; it's a process that gets people to work together in new ways. It offers the chance to access resources, innovate, and leverage outcomes in ways no single organization can do by itself.
  • Successful Strategies for Tough Times – Learn practical strategies in four critical categories: increasing revenues, cost-cutting ideas, structural changes and engagement/collaboration strategies.
  • Making Fundraising Work in a Down Economy – A look at traditional fund raising strategies and creating new revenue streams.
  • 2009 Hawaii Giving Study – How has the "giving climate" in Hawaii changed and what factors influence how people choose to give? Learn more from the latest Giving Study results.
