  • The Corporation for National and Community Service announced the anticipated availability of approximately $6.8 million to award new Learn and Serve America Higher Education grants.
  • The Elementary and Secondary School Counseling program will support efforts by 44 local educational agencies to establish or expand elementary school and secondary school counseling programs.
  • The Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination Program will fund 28 programs in a variety of settings.
  • The National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the Administration for Children and Families invited eligible United States small business concerns to submit Small Business Innovation Research grant applications.
  • Institutions of Higher Education can apply to the Department of Homeland Security for the Homeland Security-related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Career Development Program.
  • The National Institute of Justice seeks proposals for research and development to enhance forensic crime scene examination and medico-legal investigations. Proposed projects may focus on, but are not limited to, crime scene examination, medico-legal death investigations, forensic pathology, forensic anthropology, forensic odontology, and fire scene analysis.
  • 90 awards will go to implement the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women (www.ovw.usdoj.gov) Community-Defined Solutions to Violence Against Women Program, formerly the Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforcement of Protection Orders Program.
