SCORE workshops are a guide to starting a business

The nonprofit SCORE Hawaii, in partnership with Small Business Administration, presents a series of five, once-a-month workshops on what you need to know to start your own business, beginning on Feb. 16. Business plans will be covered at all workshops and a SCORE Counselor will work with you as you develop your plan.

Topics and dates are:

  • Feb. 16Getting Started in Business, Business Registration, Business Entity What’s best for me?, GET License and How to Write a Business Plan
  • Mar 16Managing Your Cash Flow, Budgeting, Inventory, Pricing
  • April 20Business Financing, Working Capital, Pre-qualifying for a Business Loan
  • May 18Marketing and Sales, Advertising and Promotions, Online Marketing and Social Marketing
  • June 15 – Human Resources, Hiring, Payroll, Insurance and Workman’s Comp
  • July 20Bankers’ Day an opportunity to meet with bankers to present your business plan for evaluation.

Register by Feb. 11. Workshops are scheduled every third Wednesday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. at the SBA Conference room, 500 Ala Moana Blvd. Room 306 (Restaurant Row), Honolulu. Cost is $15 per workshop or $50 for all five.
