Organize a “QuizBowl” team and win a stay at the Ihilani

To support its work to ensure educational access and opportunity for all Hawai‘i children, College Connections Hawai‘i is organizing what founder Andrew Aoki calls “a titanic battle of intellectual prowess” at 5 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Elks Club, 2933 Kalakaua Ave.

“Okay,” he admits, “it’s really a trivia contest.” Companies fielding five-person “QuizBowl” teams already include HECO, Island Insurance, Gentry Homes, Booz Allen Hamilton and others. “We also have a bunch of alumni teams including Princeton, which claims it will win hands down,” Aoki says. “The competition is getting HOT for some and others are just looking for an excuse to party.”

The winning team will win five one-night stays at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa, courtesy of Koolina Resorts. Top teams in different categories will also win prizes.
