Hawaii People’s Fund, a partnership of activists and donors who share a vision of a just, equitable and sustainable society, funds groups challenging institutions and attitudes that foster economic, social, racial and gender inequalities. It provides grants and technical assistance and unique networking opportunities to grassroots organizations working for social change throughout Hawai‘i and the Pacific.

The Hawai‘i Community Foundation seeks proposals by Jan. 16 for the Kahuku Community Fund, established in 2005 by the Estate of James Campbell with a broad purpose: “to be used for charitable and community purposes within the geographic district of Kahuku, bounded by Turtle Bay and Malaekahana.”

The General Mills Foundation has grants available to encourage communities to improve the eating and physical activity patterns of young people, ages 2-20. It will award fifty grants of $10,000 each. Prudential Locations, a Hawai‘i real estate firm, has renamed its nonprofit division The Locations Foundation. Previously called Prudential Locations Foundation, it primarily serves disadvantaged children and families in Hawai‘i and works with other nonprofits in the community including Aloha United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu and Ronald McDonald House.
