Apply now for $25,000 Community Partnership Awards

2008 marked the 13th year of the Mutual of America Community Partnership Award. To date, the Community Partnership Award has recognized 130 partnerships in cities and towns across America, expanding public awareness of their work and helping them attract additional partners and new sponsors.

“The Mutual of America Community Partnership Award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good,” said Thomas J. Moran, Mutual of America Life Insurance Company’s president, CEO and board chair.

The goal of the annual awards is to recognize the important contributions that nonprofit organizations, in partnership with public, private and other social sector organizations, make to society. Each of the award recipients must demonstrate the difference the partnership has made, show the ability of the partnership to be replicated and to stimulate new ideas in addressing social issues, as well as illustrate the partnership’s commitment to advancing the mission and principles of the organization.

Mutual of America presents a number of grants, and $25,000 is awarded to the winning organization each year. In addition, a video of the award winner’s project will be produced, featuring the principals involved and explaining the program in detail. The video becomes a useful tool in helping to showcase, promote and replicate the award winning program.
