Nonprofits can apply now for AUW Donor Choice Program

Aloha United Way has announced the opening of the application process for 2009 Donor Choice eligibility. Nonprofits that become eligible will be listed in AUW campaign materials which will enable donors to designate gifts to them. Annually, donors earmark approximately $2.5 million to local agencies through the AUW workplace campaign.

Nonprofits based on Oahu that provide a health or human service may be eligible. Download the application from the AUW website – the link is on the right side of the home page. The application, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, must be submitted by Jan. 31.

“We want to provide our donors the widest possible selection so we would like to reach as many nonprofits as possible,” said Norm Baker, AUW vice president. If you have questions about the application or want more information, contact Brett Kerr, (808) 543-2206 or brett@auw.org.

“Please understand that you must be pre-qualified to be eligible for designations during AUW’s 2009 campaign,” Baker said. “Also, there will be no exceptions to the Jan. 31 postmark deadline.”

If you have questions about the Donor Choice program, AUW will host an orientation session from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15. in the Hilo Conference Room on the fifth floor of the AUW building at 200 North Vineyard Blvd., Honolulu, which is at the corner of Vineyard Boulevard and Aala Street.

Seating space is limited; to confirm a seat contact Mahea at (808) 543-2207 or mahealani@auw.org. A limited number of parking passes are available.
