ANNOUCEMENTS

Nominate a collaborative leader for recognition

Every time someone in Hawaii settles a dispute peacefully, we all benefit, says the Mediation Center of the Pacific. Each year the Center recognizes the community’s collaborative leaders, individuals who make a difference by encouraging colleagues to work through problems and who truly believe that all problems can be resolved.

The Center asks nonprofits to help identify the 2007 Collaborative Leaders by nominating individuals working in their organizations. They can be the CEO, COO, managers, team leaders or other professionals – people others rely on to solve problems and find creative solutions.

The Center will honor selected individuals at its 5th Annual Collaborative Leaders Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 2, at the Ala Moana Hotel, Honolulu. To nominate someone, answer these questions in writing:

  1. How does this person fit the role of a Collaborative Leader?
  2. What personal qualities does this person possess that make him/her an effective Collaborative Leader?
  3. Give an example of how this person has utilized creative problem solving skills to create a positive outcome for others.
  4. Give examples of how this person displays an ability to lead effectively and collaboratively.
