VolunteerHawaii site adds RSS feeds

Aloha United Way’s VolunteerHawaii web site now has RSS capabilities. RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication," which allows subscribers to see some website contents without having to go to the website. This allows users to stay in touch, receiving updates while doing less work. Volunteer Hawaii now has RSS feeds on pages which change frequently. Nonprofits can use the RSS feed to see what has changed recently, for example:

  • New volunteer opportunities as they are added
  • New events added to the events calendar
  • Volunteer and agency news and spotlights

This is accomplished by using an RSS reader, which can be set up in two steps:
