Honolulu's young advertising professionals won top national honors at the American Advertising Federation's annual conference in Virginia for a pro-bono advertising campaign for nonprofit Kanu Hawaii, the club's sixth win since a 2000-2001 campaign for Hale Kipa, a program for at-risk youth.
Past awards were for campaigns for Aloha United Way organizations that provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities, for Hawaii Literacy and for Hawaii Meals on Wheels. The group's presentation for AccesSurf Hawaii in 2007 also beat other Ad 2 chapters around the nation.
Ad 2 Honolulu was runner up for Club of the Year behind the Tampa Bay chapter and won two first-place honors this year, for Club Operations and Programs; two second-place awards, for Membership and its Public Service book; and a third-place award, for Government Relations.
