Get practical advice to face tough times at June 5 seminar

Pacific Business News and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Hawaii present a special PBN-AFP seminar, “Survive the economic storm – How to stay hot in a cooling market,” from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5 at ‘Iolani School’s Seton Hall, 563 Kamoku St., Honolulu. A continental breakfast and registration are available at 7:30 a.m.

The program – first in a series of four presented by PBN – will provide practical advice for nonprofit executives on:

  • What to do when your client bases changes
  • When to join forces with other nonprofits
  • Where to control costs
  • How to expand your donor outreach
  • Why doing less is an option
  • Who can capture and identify the good in the bad

Panelists include:

  • Elizabeth Giesting, CEO of the Hawai‘i Primary Care Association and immediate past-chair of HANO
  • Laura Robertson, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries Hawai‘i and chair of HANO's board of directors 
  • Kelvin Taketa, president and CEO of Hawai‘i Community Foundation
  • Alan Tang, president and CEO of Olomana Marketing
