Chaminade tax seminar to explore new compliance issues

Chaminade University and the Chaminade Tax Foundation will host the fifth annual Nonprofit Organizations One-Day Seminar on Friday, Sept. 26, at the Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu. Save the date and watch for a program agenda in the mail in August.

The seminar will provide officers, directors, members and managers of exempt organizations and their accountants or attorneys with valuable information necessary to ensure that their exempt organizations are properly and effectively run.

Recent legislative actions and Internal Revenue Service decisions have significantly changed the rules and regulations, so it’s time to get caught up, especially on the new IRS Form 990, which has undergone sweeping changes for the first time in 30 years.

At this seminar, experts will guide you through the tricky maze of compliance, review the categories and governing instruments for tax-exempt organizations and examine how new laws and regulations affect your organization’s status. Learn how audit accounting standards for tax-exempt entities have changed and explore strategies for maintaining your tax-exempt status.
