Green coupon books available for nonprofit fundraising

Nonprofits looking for new ways to raise funds might consider the HonuGuide, a new sustainable living guide, which provides information and resources for sustainable living in Hawaii and offers coupon discounts from local, green businesses. The 2009 HonuGuide is 128 pages with 115 local coupons that offer $3,500 in savings.

Guide content promotes healthy and environmentally friendly living in Hawaii. The coupon books are “carbon neutral,” printed on recycled papers with carbon offsets provided locally by Evolution Sage.

The educational articles in the HonuGuide are written by local authors who understand sustainability in Hawaii. The guide provides educators with teaching material on sustainability while promoting awareness of the environment in the community and raising funds for important projects. 

HonuGuide retails for $20 and schools and nonprofits make $10 for each guide they sell.  There are three fundraising options: Consignment sales, where the nonprofit only pays for what it sells; online sales, which features no inventory to manage; and events, where guides are provided for the organization to sell.
