Block grants available for jobs, economic development

Grants of up to $150,000 each -- $3.3 million total – are available from the Office of Community Services within the Administration for Children and Families. Applications will be accepted to fund up to 22 one-year grants to establish Community Services Block Grant State Exemplary Practice Projects.

The grants are supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Their purpose is to document exemplary practice models focused on:

  1. Job Creation and Green Jobs
  2. Benefits Enrollment; or
  3. Community Economic Development.

Applicants can submit proposals for one, or any combination of, the three exemplary practice model focus areas mentioned above, which comprise elements of a strong network of activities to identify evidence-based and innovative community services programs.
