Kids Hurt Too will present two workshops to increase understanding of how to support those impacted by the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. Attendees will learn about the Kid's Heart Project, an effort to increase the capacity of Hawaii and Japan to provide grief and trauma support to victims and to train bi-lingual Japanese speaking volunteers to work with children and displaced families coming from Japan to Hawaii to heal and restore their spirits.
Many translators have volunteered for this project and many more are needed. The registration fees will go to help the Kid's Heart Project. The workshops are limited to 70 attendees each.
The workshops will be held on Friday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday, June 11, from 1 5 p.m. at the Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union, Diamond Head Room, Aala St., Honolulu. The presenter is Cynthia White, executive director and co-founder of Kids Hurt Too. Cost is $20, which includes light snack and parking in the building.
Workshops are open to the public. Call (808) 545-5683 to reserve one of 50 free parking spots available in the building, limited to 50 spots. Click here to download a registration form.
