The Businesswoman of the Year must demonstrate skilled leadership provided with compassion, ethics, values, integrity and trust. She must possess true business acumen and be involved in our community – 20 finalists will be selected. The Community Leader of the Year is someone who makes a difference in support of Hawaii nonprofits by contributing her time, energy and talent – ten finalists will be selected. Nominations sought for “Faith & Family Innovative Marketer” award – The Faith-Based Marketing Alliance will award a prize for innovation in faith and family marketing at the Second Faith-Based Marketing Summit, April 10 and 11 at the Renaissance Dallas (Texas) Richardson Hotel.
Nominate yourself or someone you know to win a Bahamas Missions Cruise for two on the Royal Caribbean cruise line, June 4-8, 2007. Nominees should have produced or executed anything “in 2006 considered groundbreaking, creative, innovative, or wildly successful that reached a faith based audience.”
Work nominated could include marketing campaigns, single ads in a magazine or newspaper, video or audio scripts, church events, new faith-based products, direct mail pieces, email blasts, collateral pieces, viral campaigns or anything that made a significant impact on the faith-based market.

Nominate an HEI volunteer for recognition – If you know an employee of a Hawaiian Electric Industries company who gives time and talent to assist 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations in Hawai‘i and want to help that organization at the same time, nominate the individual for recognition in the HEI Charitable Foundation annual volunteer service award program.
Any full-time employee of an HEI company may be nominated by fellow workers, themselves or by the nonprofits they assist in the areas of health and human services, civic, cultural, educational and athletic or youth activities. Award criteria include the significance and quality of their community service in 2006, their leadership and involvement and the results they have achieved.
As many as seven individuals will be selected to receive the President’s Award and be honored at a luncheon. Representatives from the nonprofit will also be invited and receive checks for $1,000 on the employees' behalf.
