Hone your proposals to Hawaii trusts and foundations

HANO has developed specialized training in grant-seeking from Hawaii trusts and foundations and offers this introductory, hands-on, interactive workshop for local 501(c)(3) organizations seeking grants from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 9 (registration opens at 8:30 a.m.) in the Oahu Room at Neal S. Blaisdell Center, 777 Ward Ave., Honolulu. This workshop will:

  • Introduce you to basic techniques in researching grants
  • Enhance your skills in proposal writing for foundation funding
  • Give you hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing a proposal

Attendees will learn the history of foundations in Hawaii and current local and national trends in philanthropic giving. They will explore strategies for finding the best fit with funders, discover how to put together a proposal package and explore the criteria funders use to evaluate proposals.

Presenters are Lily Bloom Domingo, chief operating officer and director of Training and Consulting Services HANO, and Jennifer Cornish Creed, HANO training specialist, who have conducted numerous workshops in proposal writing, board governance and outcomes design and provided consulting services to nonprofit and government agencies in strategic planning and outcomes implementation.

Cost is $100 for HANO members and Aloha United Way partner agencies; $160 for nonmembers, which includes materials, morning refreshments and lunch. To register by Friday, March 2, click HERE.
