UH to host deliberative dialogs on community concerns

The University of Hawai‘i-Manoa College of Social Sciences - Public Policy Center and the Matsunaga Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution will present “Promoting and Conducting Deliberative Dialogues on Community Concerns Based on the National Issues Forums,” a workshop series open to the public at which participants will:

  • Learn how to promote dialogue on “Choosing a Future for Hawaii”
  • Learn how to moderate deliberative discussion of public issues
  • Learn a process for dealing with local and community issues
  • Discuss strategies for organizing forums
  • Engage in deliberation of issues with diverse citizens
  • Network with others who are working toward pubic involvement
  • Learn how to apply these skills in your organization

The workshops will he held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at the University of Hawai`i - Campus Center Executive Dining Room. Cost is $90 per person, $60 per person for groups of three or more and $40 per student. Click here to register.
