Donor stories don't need to be "written" – they live inside each of our donors. “Uncovering Donor Stories and How They Can Transform Organizations” is a lively, interactive HANO workshop that will develop the skills and talents needed to uncover these gems and explore how doing so will change you, your donors and your organization forever.
The session, cosponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Aloha Chapter, will help you to appreciate the neuroscience of story sharing, understand the role that rituals play in story sharing, discern when to be a story teller and when to be a story gatherer, explore why some of the best stories are collaborations and discuss the role that inclusion plays in fostering story sharing.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 9 and be followed by lunch and a roundtable discussion from noon to 1 p.m. at the HCAP conference room, Third Floor Board Room, One South King Building, 33 South King St., Honolulu.
The presenter, Monica Grant has more than 20 years of experience as a nonprofit and development professional, including work with the YMCA, Nature Conservancy, United Way, Sierra Club, and her own nonprofit consulting firm. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $70 for HANO and AFP members, $100 for non-members, which includes lunch, morning refreshments and materials. Group discounts are available.
