Wedding Ring Shop offers ‘Heart of Gold’ program

The Wedding Ring Shop’s 2009 “Heart of Gold” nonprofit partnership program is an opportunity for people to contribute to a nonprofit without getting out their checkbooks – and even have fun doing it.

The nonprofit invites guests to bring their broken, mismatched or unwanted gold, platinum or sterling silver jewelry to an event at the shop. The Honolulu store at 1181 Kapiolani Blvd. hosts the party, provides refreshments and its knowledgeable fine jewelry consultants evaluate the pieces to determine their value.

Unlike the popular “Antiques Road Show” on PBS, attendees can immediately receive a check and can donate all or a portion of the proceeds to the partner nonprofit. In addition, The Wedding Ring Shop will donate a percentage of the total payout to guests to the organization. Click here to fill out a short survey to provide contact information and find out more about the program.

The store will host up to nine parties in 2009 and there is a 30-day lead time to organize an event. Contact Nicole Robson at nicole@weddingringshop.com or (808) 945-7766 for more information.

For more than 20 years, The Wedding Ring Shop has been a leader in the Hawaii bridal jewelry industry. Its third and fourth generation kamaaina founders and owners place an emphasis on quality, customer service and community. The store has demonstrated its values and commitment to social responsibility through partnerships with organizations such as the Honolulu Symphony, Junior League, Assets School, Hanahauoli School and Bishop Museum.
