Hawaii nonprofits invited to present at ‘Open Call’

Social Currency invites Hawaii nonprofit organizations to an “Open Call” to share their stories and funding opportunities with potential donors. The 30-minute sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 23 and 24, at the YMCA of Honolulu, 441 Pali Highway. Participating nonprofits will have 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes to respond to questions.

Most Social Currency donor clients do not issue requests for proposals. Therefore, this is a unique opportunity to present information about funding opportunities that can be matched to their philanthropic interests and, since Social Currency shares relevant information with their clients and colleagues, to get the word out about the impact your organization is or could be making with donor support.

Most funding opportunities are for programs and nonprofits in any field are welcome to present. Presenters are asked not to make PowerPoint presentations and to bring three sets of whatever materials they would like to share.

To schedule an interview, respond via direct message on Twitter (www.twitter.com) to @hawaiicharity with your three preferred dates and times for interview. Appointments will NOT be scheduled via e-mail or telephone. The majority of Social Currency's donor clients are regular users of social media, including Twitter and Facebook, so nonprofit organizations are encouraged to establish a presence on these media and share your organization's accomplishments, funding opportunities and other information.
