Bank of Hawaii seeks nominations for Maui award

The Bank of Hawaii invites nonprofit organizations on Maui, Lanai and Molokai to submit applications by March 17 for the 2011 Mike Lyons Maui Community Award, which has been increased this year to $25,000. The award was established in honor of the late, retired Senior Vice President and Maui District Manager Michael H. Lyons II, who was a dedicated community leader throughout his 41-year career with the bank.

Bank of Hawaii welcomes nominations from nonprofit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organizations. Nominations may be made by the public or the organizations themselves. Nomination forms are available at all Bank of Hawaii branches in Maui County or by calling (808) 856-2302.

In 2010, the $20,000 award was divided equally between four nonprofits: Fun Day Foundation, A Keiki’s Dream; Hale Makua Health Services; Maui County Salvation Army; and Maui Economic Concerns of the Community.
