The Special Education Center of Hawaii has announced it is “re-branding” and will now officially do business as SECOH. The nonprofit also has a restated mission and core values, a clarified vision, new tag line, modified logo and a redesigned website.
"The review of our brand, which included an assessment and exploration of our name, mission, vision, core value and business lines, has led to a stronger understanding of how we can best serve our stakeholders and strengthen service systems through community cultivation," said Sandra Yoro, Executive Director.
Founded in 1965, SECOH is a leader in Hawaii’s disability service sector. With a vision that all people will be valued and respected, SECOH's restated mission is to provide personalized services to people with disabilities in the spirit of enriching lives. Its new tag line, “Nurturing Lives & Cultivating Communities,” reflects SECOH's community based business model for supporting people with disabilities. SECOH's core values of integrity, dignity and conviction preserve the legacy of the example set by its Founder, Sister Agnes Jerome Murphy, Yoro said.
SECOH's new website, designed to be user friendly, informative and customer oriented, invites visitors to explore further, with slide shows, short videos of SECOH customers and staff engaging in everyday activities of life and virtual tours of SECOH’s six community centers, where SECOH provides a wide range of personalized, innovative and dynamic services to people with disabilities of all ages. The centers are in Kahala, Kalihi, Pearl City, Waipahu, Ewa Beach and Wahiawa and offer Day Services, Respite, Personal Assistance/Habilitation, Residential Habilitation and Skilled Nursing programs.
