AUW seeks applicants for emergency and crisis funding

Aloha United Way has opened applications for its Emergency & Crisis Services funding program. Successful applicants will receive their initial funding in January 2011 and the funding will generally continue for three calendar years through 2013.

Funding is open to all qualified nonprofits on Oahu. Successful applicants will be required to submit their most recent audits and IRS Form 990s and comply with other AUW partner agency requirements if they are not Aloha United Way partner agencies.

For this funding cycle, Aloha United Way is seeking providers of programs in these service areas:

  • Emergency medical care for the homeless/uninsured
  • Emergency food supply
  • Support for the escape and sheltering of domestic violence victims
  • Support for families affected by disasters
  • Support for those who are at-risk of becoming homeless (for  2011 and 2012 only)
  • Crisis stabilization for selected crisis situations
