The Fieldstone Alliance, a nonprofit that develops and distributes publications to help nonprofit, community, funders, government and business leaders improve their communities, has announced that it will dissolve and that it is seeking new homes for its programs and publications.
According to the Alliance, “Over a quarter million copies of our award-winning publications are in use in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Authored by hands-on professionals and field-tested by experienced practitioners, the books have a proven track record of changing the methods and performance of those who use them.”
Titles include: Best of the Board Café, 2nd Edition; Embracing Cultural Competency: A Roadmap for Nonprofit Capacity Builders; Managing Executive Transitions: A Guide for Nonprofits; Seven Turning Points: Leading Through Pivotal Transitions in Organizational Life; Boomer Volunteer Engagement: Collaborate Today, Thrive Tomorrow; The Nonprofit Career Guide: How to Land a Job That Makes a Difference; and many others.
In a letter to nonprofit organizations and clients, Kathleen Enright, board chair, wrote, “Since November, the Board of Directors of Fieldstone Alliance has been carefully considering the future of the organization and exploring ways to sustain its contributions to the nonprofit community. After exploring an alternative organizational structure and business model, the board reached the difficult decision to pursue the dissolution of Fieldstone Alliance.”
The letter continued: “Our goal is to assure those who have come to rely on the quality and relevance of the content and those who created it that the material will continue to be valued and broadly available to the sector. The board is also committed to maintaining access to the resources Fieldstone Alliance placed on its web site, www.fieldstonealliance.org.”
The Alliance invited clients to suggest prospective purchasers of the publication list and asked for ideas and recommendations for its web-based resources. For more information, contact Carol Zapfel, (651) 556-4505.
